ModyWorks: About

ModyWorks is a New York City-based record label that specializes in electronic and alternative music. It operates as a subsidiary of Mod. Corporation and is run by pop artist Almamy.

Founded in 2007, with the DIY punk aesthetic that is prevalent in the electronic music scene, ModyWorks started out in Almamy's bedroom as a vehicle for a series of digital-only releases.

The label debut was a twin EPs project, The Sexy Boy EP /... B.M.D. and The Sexy Boy EP /... L.Y.D., issued in January 2008.

It was followed by a maxi-single of Almamy's best selling song Like You Do that featured remixes by up-and-coming and established remix producers, such as italian electro duo En Masse and electronica wizard Seelenluft.

A double A-side single Don't Ask Me / French Kiss was released in August 2008.

Initially intended as a creative outlet for Almamy, the scope of ModyWorks has been expanded to include other artists and genres.

The label is home to tech house DJ/producer Aman Ellis, twisted electro wizard Beetnik, pop duo Button Love, breakcore/glitch artist F.r.a.c.t.a.l, French pop singer-songwriter Jenny Canto, singer-songwriter-rapper extraordinaire JMI, techno musician Minimat, Belgian wunderkind Paco De Moor and electronica sonic architect SpenceGabor.

ModyWorks is an Interscope-distributed record label.
