Making mixtapes by the age of seven, SpenceGabor. started to play guitar at twelve. An interest in drumming soon followed and he formed several garage bands where he wrote the bulk of the songs.
It is while experimenting with engineering, to record his bands compositions, that he was turned on to electronic music. Drum n bass and jungle primarily.
SpenceGabor. spent the next several years mastering his craft in audio engineering, leading to music production and DJing. "Depeche Mode and DJ Shadow were a major influence in my development," he says.
Using the alias nexusdeep. for his work as a producer, it is however under the moniker HedNorton, for his remix work, that he initially gained recognition. His remixes of I Kissed a Girl and Me La Couler Douce, by Katy Perry and Jenny Canto respectively, attracted a lot of attention in 2008 and 2009.
His debut single, The Session, was released in June 2009 on the ModyWorks record label.
Mostly described as minimal techno, SpenceGabor.'s music is however a blend of various genres, ranging from dubstep to Trent Reznor to downtempo but managing to sound totally and irrevocably his.
